The Father of Tuning is Forgotten

You all know that the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R and its predecessors were considered parents in tuning, next to the Toyota AE86, Silvia, Supra and others. These cars were the base platform for many tuning applications because of multiple reasons.
One of the most important reason for which they became known world-wide, is the fact that they all share a high modification potential. The chassis were very strong, but the engines played the most important. Japan is famous for the technological features in their cars, the balance and power they put into them.
There are many street "monsters", powered by the RB26DETT, SR20, 1JZ and the 2JZ engines. But how where these street monster machines forgotten?Well, as the years passed, the automotive world developed even faster. After a long break from their last hit on the market, Nissan revived the Skyline history by refreshing the market with the Nissan GT-R (R35), that is considered a success, and a mean street machine. The fact that it beat the 911's time on the famous Nürburgring made it stand out and become another very appreciated car by the GT-R fans and enthusiasts.
The approach was changed a bit, but the GT-R still has a lot of charisma, and the famous ATTESA 4WD system that can make it compete against very fast cars. It is a heavy car, as its predecessor, the R34 GT-R, that revolutionized the tuning industry and became very famous. The difference is that they have changed from the straight 6 RB26DETT that develops 280hp, to a V6 VR38DETT that develops 550hp, changed to a twin clutch system and put more tech into the car. It isn't a high revving engine anymore, but the car still feels like the previous version, because it has the looks of a sports car, and the famous GT-R taillights. I must say that they made a huge improvement in fuel efficiency, it has been reduced to 8.6km/L (tested under Japan's 10-15 mode) or 8. 7km/L(in JC08 mode).
A car that is still very appreciated is the Honda NSX, a milestone in automotive engineering and development. With the aluminum body and frame, the transversely mounted mid aluminum engine, rear wheel drive and VTEC(Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) it revolutionized the automotive industry. It also defined the term sports car and made a stand at the time of its appearance.
Today, those cars were forgotten, and although there are still many enthusiasts for the "classic Japanese muscle", the people have changed their view to cars such as the GT-R, LFA, Mitsubishi Evo X, Shelby GT500 Super Snake, which are even better high performance machines.
